Business Ideas/Transportation Service
Summary
Grabbed off of the official Próspera list:
Many of Próspera’s residents live outside the jurisdiction and commute in daily for work. There is a need for transportation providers who can provide on-demand transportation for residents. This presents an opportunity for the creation of profitable transportation services in Roatán.
Why do this in Próspera?
The need is not specific to Próspera, but transporation is inherently a local service (we can’t import it).
Open questions
Is the need for transportation a consequence of there not being residential space yet?
Need to ask the people commuting how many of them plan to move once Duna is finished. If it’s the vast majority of them the real competition will be “walking to work” and that’s hard to beat.
Why are the existing solutions not cutting it?
There are taxis and buses (actually big vans) already running on the island, so it’s worth digging into why these aren’t good enough (wrong routes maybe?).
Since the vehicles will be spending some to most of their time outside the Próspera jurisdiction proper, what rules will the operator fall under?
Obviously the local rules of the road will apply, but would the taxi driver even count as working “in” Próspera for tax/labor-law purposes? Will the fares be subject to outside regulation?
